Alexandra Desipris Solo-Exhibition | A Collapsed Tower

Join artist, Alexandra Desipris, on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at LIPS from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM as we celebrate the opening of her solo-exhibition, A COLLAPSED TOWER.

A COLLAPSED TOWER is an exploration of memory as an act of devotion shown through the form of ritual objects. Memory is a means of survival in an impermanent world, collective memory an act of resistance. Memory is the archive of identity.

A COLLAPSED TOWER is an assertion that to remember is to be defiant in an era which dictates that we move forward, forget and delete those things which we do not wish to confront, the very things which shape who we are as individuals.

Alexandra Desipris is a painter, sculptor, and researcher of Greek descent based out of Newark, NJ. Her work deals with ideas of identity, history, liminality, finality and the deconstruction of ritual and tradition. For more information on Alexandra Desipris visit
